Six Sentence Sunday, Apr. 10

Here's something from my unpublished MS, By Hook or By Crook. I'm currently in the process of querying agents about this one:

"It's hard not to be jumpy around you when you keep getting under my clothes somehow," Ivy said with asperity.
"Don't worry. Nothing on the agenda tonight except a backrub," Joe assured her. He said it mostly to allay her fears -- he usually said that kind of thing to a woman just before he pounced -- but he realized that he meant it. He needed to move slowly with a woman like Ivy, his instinct told him. He needed to test the waters, letting her get accustomed to what was between them. Tonight, he wanted to break down a few more barriers between them.

Who doesn't like a man who goes slow? This sounds like a fun book. Good luck with your queries.

Backrubs can be dangerous--and usually lead to getting under the clothes! Someone once said, "Backrubs lead to front rubs." But who can resist?
