A scene from the contemporary romance I'm currently shopping to agents, By Hook or By Crook. Things aren't going so well between my heroine, Ivy, and her hero, Joe:
He didn't want to look at her.
Joe did that a lot, she realized. He excelled at creating distance between them when he didn't want to be reached. This is how it felt to want something really, really bad that you can never have. If she were Daisy, she would say it sucked, big-time. She wasn't Daisy, so she rose and walked away, waiting until she was safe alone in her room to let a few quiet tears fall.See other Six Sentence Sunday snippets at http://www.sixsunday.blogspot.com/.

Really well done, you really set the scene!
Nice six--the straightforward description makes the emotion come through all the more powerfully.
Wanting what you can't have...sucks bigtime and creates wonderful tension
I feel sorry for her and hope that Joe gets what he deserves
