For my first book, I used the name of someone who'd sent me a message on facebook... it kinda stuck. When I write fantasy, and world build, I tend to look up baby names for certain nationalities so the all sound authentic. It's the book I have a really hard time naming!Shawna Thomashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12476399575493212858noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2860686507407811668.post-20967561661412566982010-11-09T18:30:14.014-06:002010-11-09T18:30:14.014-06:00My characters seem to name themselves, but I'v...My characters seem to name themselves, but I've written only three books. I may have to work a little harder on the next three. After 2 1/2 chapters, I realised what felt wrong - renamed her Amy - and everything else fell into place. Funnily enough, I never seem to have the same problem with my hero. Maybe I think too much about him! : )LaVerne Clarkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10418742073687153863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2860686507407811668.post-85989419702235944772010-11-09T12:34:39.512-06:002010-11-09T12:34:39.512-06:00I think that a characters name immediately gives y...I think that a characters name immediately gives you feeling for who they are, even without a word of description. You can't be sure if the name you choose for your child will reflect their personality, but we have the luxury of knowing what sort of people our characters are from inception!Jannine Gallanthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17692098634695675967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2860686507407811668.post-22255761245694411042010-11-08T19:52:10.791-06:002010-11-08T19:52:10.791-06:00Love talking about naming characters. For instance, my book due out this week, Leave No Trace, is a character searching for her missing aunt - her name is Nick Seek.Infogypsyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15598764569161683076noreply@blogger.com
